The Unlucky Day
Last Monday painted one great memory in my brain.
It was the start of my third week of koas (clinical rotation) in DV department and also the first day in RSUD Wonosari.
Upon arrival, i suddenly remembered my friend, Ella, text asking help to transfer the KOH and KOH parker they brought there last Saturday. Trying to be helpful, i asked Bu Siti about the ink and went to the sink in physiotherapy room to do so with Rama.
The transfer of KOH went well. Then when we open the KOH Parker, the tip of the bottle looks like it was meant to be used as it is, not needing any transfer. But since the bottle is plastic, while the other bottle is brown glass bottle, we thought it might be better to tranfer then.
At first the KOH parker ink was flowing out slowly, then stop. But with slight squeezing it was flowing bit by bit. Both of us was just standing by the sink, talking, while rama transfering and i was cleaning.
The next second, it was a loud "puff"! The KOH parker kind of exploded! The ink was allover both of us, from the neck down. Our koas clwhile coat is now stained with black ink!!! Oh my! The floor sink, and the wall, were all covered with spots of black ink. What had happened?
I was shocked and was afraid dr Agung might scold us for this mess. We just arrived and have not met the dr yet. Now, this is the welcoming gift.
Rama went and asked for help from our senior, mas Naqvi and Ray. Bu Siti came over as well. Seeing our condition, they quickly asked us to wash and wipe of the stain. For me, the stain even flowed inside my chest a bit. I quickly wash with water and went to the washrooom to try clean up.
Sigh, the stain just won't come out. And the rest of the day was continued with such messy look. Dr Agung wasn't angry and so are the nurses. Hew!
That wasn't the end of the unlucky story. As we returned to Jogja, we to RSS to buy more ink which dr Agung had called Bu Ning and told her about the incident. As we sat, we chatted and waited for bu Ning to prepare a new bottle of KOH parker for us to bring back tomorrow. (just to specify, we changed to clean shirt before going to RSS, given that we wouldn't want to scare anyone... haha! and thanks to Ulva's shirt too. =D )
As we reached back to the car, Rama suddenly can't find his car keys! OMGGG! Where is it? We quickly assumed that it was left in the lab, and walked back to find, but to no results! We started to panic a bit and started searching everywhere we could, tracing our route from the car to the lab, and from the lab to car. All to no avails!
Rama was suppose to send his car to fix the side mirror which wss knocked down the other day, now we can't! It's around 3.30, almost one hour after we lost the keys. We went to bursa, sat there, ate, trying to figure out what to do. Hmmphhhhh... Then i got a text from William, as he was suppose to go over to my place to get the serai oil, but now, we are both stranded in campus! Hence, he came to rescue us. We asked the satpam for any lost keys, but none. Therefore, our only leftover choice was to find a "tukang kunci". His car's spare keys are in his house in Gersik, to get the keys by fastest route would be the next day anyway. As we went around searching for key maker, we can't get any! The key maker asked us to go over to the area near amplaz to find one, and it would be costly as well.
Not knowing what to do, we went back to campus and asked the satpam again. Then we went to the patroli satpam to asked them and asked for help to look after the car as it was parked outside campus, near their station.
Yes! It was the turning point! The keys are with them! They found it on the road near the car! It was such a relieved! (but how come both of us didn't realised it was dropped there? Blur case... )
Now, the time is almost 5pm, and Rama had to go to Bethesda for the follow up of the person who knocked his car the other day. My unluckiness ended , but his started from last friday's accident and continued to hospital. It was not his fault when the bapak knocked his side mirror and fell, but he had to pay for everything, the medical examination and medications. Now, the follow up bill. All in all, it totaled up to alomst Rp. 700,000! and the next followup is next monday. with this weekly visit, how long does the bapak expect? Worse of all, the slip of payment goes to the bapak as he wanted to claim from his company. Rama asked whether he would reimburse him for the payment, but the bapak was selfish enough to say that the claims are for him. (>_<)
Anyway, this is life. we faced with people of different characteristics, different point of views.
We are to experience some funny yet panicking conditions at times.
But these are the things that make us who we are.
These are the things that mould us.
These are things that will always mark a point in our life... =)
Though it looked like acursed unlucky, yet lucky day, as i had my lesson. =)
ps: everything is beautiful! Thanks God! =)
